Floor plans

What makes a good floor plan?

Why a Snibbit floor plan works

Because it is more than just a representation.
It is an experience.
A strategy.
A guest-friendly tool.

A Snibbit floor plan makes choices easy and your park recognizable at a single glance.

At first glance, a floor plan seems simple: a map showing where everything is located. But in practice, it is one of the most underestimated parts of the guest experience. A good floor plan does much more than point out locations. It guides behavior, sets expectations, prevents frustration, and even determines how someone remembers your park.
A good floor plan is like a mini-world. An experience in itself. And therefore, it deserves the same attention as the choice of a new accommodation, an animation program, or the decoration of the swimming pool.

You don’t tell them what’s there; you tell them what’s important
Guests scan the floor plan faster than you think. That’s why the hierarchy must be right: what information stands out, what catches the eye, which paths lead the gaze? A good floor plan isn’t just a list; it’s a visual story.

Routing is psychology
How do people walk? Where do they expect a path? Which routes feel safe, logical, or inviting? A strong floor plan supports the natural flow of your park. This way, we prevent people from wandering or unintentionally blocking routes.

Scale doesn’t have to be perfect; you’re allowed to entice
Some elements can be made larger, others smaller. Not to mislead, but to clarify what is relevant. A playground or restaurant can certainly be given a bit of extra emphasis.

Less is more
Too many icons and texts create noise. A guest should understand it at a glance, without legend overload. A professional floor plan contains exactly enough information to help, but not enough to overwhelm.

Does the style match the park?
A floor plan is also branding. It should feel the same as the website, signage, and corporate identity, and fit the tone of voice. From color use and line type to illustration style: everything contributes to recognizability.

What do we take into account during the design process?

Future-proof: is a new field being added soon? Then we design with room for growth.

Practical usability: online, print & signage

Clear for everyone: families, the elderly, international guests; everyone should be able to read it.

Accessible: think of color contrasts, readability, and icons that are intuitively understood.

Optimizing the experience: Which route feels logical and pleasant?

The added value of Snibbit:

We look at it as if we were your guest. We walk through your park, ask hundreds of questions, and see things that others often miss.

We build our illustrations in layers. Expansion? New sanitary building? No problem. Our floor plans are modular and permanently adaptable.

We combine experience with strategy. The floor plan matches the corporate identity and vision.

No generic illustrations. No standard icons. Everything is custom-made: your story, your atmosphere, your experience.

Twee Bruggen

The floor plan for holiday park De Twee Bruggen primarily needed to radiate peace and space, in addition to the fact that the image had to match reality. We got to work, hooking into the park’s renewed appearance, corporate identity, and vision. The challenge lay in the sheer size of the park: how to keep it clear while still showing how spacious the pitches are.

Goorzicht

Showing that you are in the right place here with your family (high season), but also welcome as a lover of peace and nature (low season / midweek) is key in this floor plan. Located next to the Goor nature reserve in Aalten, both target groups are very welcome here.

Hazenpad

A bird’s-eye view with a high “what am I going to see at the campsite” factor. In addition to the right atmosphere and fun accommodations, the clients also wanted to make it very clear what there is to do in the immediate vicinity.

For Rest Glamp

A floor plan where all accommodations are entered as separate elements and are therefore interchangeable. Ideal if you choose a different layout every year. (At the time of creating the floor plan, only half of the glamping site had been built, which brought an extra challenge)

De Molenhoek

The old De Molenhoek floor plan was given an update in anticipation of a completely new one. At least, that was the idea… However, this version was so well received that it was decided to keep it as is.
The beauty of this is that you can refresh an existing floor plan with a new “look.” Even with a smaller budget, we can create a beautiful, atmospheric floor plan that fits the corporate identity.

Herberg De Bos, on behalf of HVG Real Estate

Could we create something like the Efteling floor plan? Yessss!!!
Using multiple drone photos (unfortunately, a single aerial photo was unusable due to the trees) and photos from the ground, the inn and its accommodations were drawn in a beautiful 3D bird’s-eye view.

Camping Déjà Vu, (FR)

Campsites that are further away can also turn to Snibbit. We can approach a joint project in various ways based on existing or newly created visual material. Evaluating a first draft together and adjusting where possible. Goal: coming to a fantastic floor plan together.

TinyParks Tiengemeten

“We would like a floor plan where the island itself and the nature on the island are shown to their best advantage. The layout of the grounds with the accommodations is less important.”

Camping de Heldense Bossen

A truly child-friendly family campsite in the middle of the Heldense forests. That should be visible on the floor plan too.

Boscamping Zwanemeer

Renee Voorenkamp, owner of Boscamping Zwanemeer:
“We got in touch with Snibbit through word of mouth about developing a new floor plan. Our wish was to create a map that reflects more of our concept and experience: a rugged forest campsite in the Primeval Province of Drenthe! Judith was immediately enthusiastic and quickly came by to view the entire site herself and go through our wishes. After that, she got to work quickly, and we received fun photos of the progress in between. We are very happy with the end result! Judith has an eye for detail. The floor plan is beautifully designed, radiates our corporate identity and experience, is clear, and shows that the campsite is completely situated in the forest. This way, the holiday fun for Boscamping Zwanemeer already starts at home when booking the camping pitch!”

Minicamping Kleintje Zandpol

Every campsite benefits from a beautiful floor plan; it draws the guest into the experience and atmosphere on-site beforehand. Experience the charm of this small campsite with a floor plan that breathes coziness. Every spot tells a story, every route leads to adventure. Welcome to our cozy world. Kleintje Zandpol consciously chooses a floor plan that reflects the warmth and conviviality of our campsite. Every detail has been designed with love, so that every guest feels at home.
